We came across this little animated short from the students at The Animation Workshop in Denmark:
In the movie, we encounter Biôrn, an old Viking determined to reach Valhalla, the warriors' afterlife full of excessive drinking and debauchery. To gain entry he has to die honorably in battle, but he discovers the right death isn’t so easy to come by.

Vikingene brakte humor til England

Engelsk humor gjør det spesielt godt i Skandinavia. Her kan man høre folk sitere Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, Absolutely Fabulous og The Office.
Ifølge den engelske avisen The Daily Telegraph sier han: - It may be the bedrock of British humour, but sarcasm was actually brought to the UK by the Vikings ... The British use of understatement and satire is thought to originate from the Vikings.
Grube sier videre: - But it's certainly true that the Old Norse sagas offer abundant examples of laconic humour, often in the face of adversity. My favourite comes in Grettir's Saga : the hero's brother, Atli, is stabbed fatally through the stomach, whereupon his dying words are (more or less) "I see that broad spears are in fashion this year".
